Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Here are a few things we did to celebrate. First the kids made some great snowflakes out of toilet paper rolls and pipe cleaners. We hung them from the light over the table so it snowed on us during every meal.

One of my favorite things we do each week is take the kids to reading time at the library. The librarian they have doing it now is the best. Her name is Erin, yes Erin the librarian. Here are a few pictures from their Christmas celebration. The kids helped tell 'Twas the night before Christmas.
They got to sit on Santa's lap and get their picture taken.

I am not sure when Craig became a pirate. I think he was still in Halloween mode.

Laney wasn't Santa's biggest fan.

After seeing Santa, the kids were able to decorate cookies. This was especially good for Laney, who after the trauma with Santa took her cookie straight, no frosting. After that everyone was smiles.
We headed to the playground for some outdoor fun and I just couldn't help snapping this picture when the opportunity presented itself. Can't blame me can you.
Abigail sang in her first Christmas Concert for school. She did a great job. The next morning they broke ground on her school's permanent location. They are turning a cotton field into her school.
We celebrated Christmas early with Chris' family . . .
Before packing up and heading North for my White Christmas.
The kids were able to enjoy some quality cousin time.
And Christmas morning proved to be everything thing they hoped for. (Really, I promise. Don't let the dead pan face fool you.)
Craig didn't want to play outside, but once he figured out how to pull Laney on the sled, he loved it. He pulled her for about half an hour, back and forth. When he would stop, Laney would complain and he would get back at it. They were so content, and exhausted for our ride home.
It was wonderful to see everyone, especially those family members who flew to spend time together. We are so grateful for you and the influence you have on our family. We love you.

My favorite thing we do here in Buckeye is go out to the desert to celebrate New Years. The kids love getting dirty.
There are the other kids there that are practically family.
This year Craig made friends with a dog named Zee.
The men take care of the cooking, which always turns out amazing. And we just have a great relaxing time. We celebrate the new year early by throwing the old Christmas trees on the fire and by 9:00 we are heading home. This year was great. Thanks everyone.
We hope your new year rocks.
